Today we’re back with an informative video in which we will walk you through the procedure a candidate has to follow to attain a driving license in Pakistan. Before the practical test, the candidate has to pass a theoretical test that assesses his knowledge of traffic rules/laws, after which his driving expertise is tested.
If a candidate wishes to give the driving test in their own car, they are allowed to do that alone without any official by their side. However, if they perform it on a dedicated test car, an official will accompany them for preventive measures, e.g., emergency braking.
A camera is set on sight to record the driving test to provide photographic evidence of why a candidate passed or failed the test. As per the official, “This is necessary as many candidates often disapprove of or question the reason for their failure.”
Traffic cones are set at a certain distance creating a path for the driving test to be performed at. Firstly, the driver must drive through the path without hitting any of the cones up to a point where the car needs to be parked. Then he/she is required to drive through the same path in reverse back to the starting point. Remember that the driver is allowed to change the gear only once if they feel that the car can hit the cone while reversing. If the driver successfully brings the car back to the starting point without hitting any of the cones, they will pass the driving test.
