Today we’re back with the owner’s review of a 2023 Hyundai Tucson. Launched in August 2020, the Tucson was initially offered in two variants; FWD and AWD. This particular car is the top-spec AWD variant which is powered by a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine producing close to 155 hp and 196 nm of torque. This engine is configured with a 6-speed automatic transmission driving all four wheels. In this video, the owner shares his experience with Tucson and briefs us about its specs and features.
The owner had not bought a new car in a long time and was driving an 8th gen Civic. The purchase decision was initiated on his trip to the US, where he drove his son’s Kia Sportage. He really liked its drive and decided to buy it in Pakistan. Upon considering Sportage, someone suggested the Tucson as it had more features, and the price difference at the time was also minimal, which convinced him to opt for it. He bought the car for 7.2 million rupees.
As per the owner, the features in this car felt gimmicky at first, but now it has become a habit to use them. Some of these features include electric seats, a panoramic roof which he thinks is pretty useful in pleasant weather, and the cornering lights assist pretty well on turns. Other features include a floating infotainment screen, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, cruise control, auto tailgate, etc. As per the owner, he would’ve never thought of practically using these features, but they are pretty handy.
According to the owner, the fuel average is obviously less than what his CIvic gave but is satisfactory. It gives around 10 km/l within the city if driven with a normal foot. However, if he drives it with a heavy foot, it comes down to 9 km/l.
This car is relatively new, so only the first complimentary service has been done, but the owner thinks that periodic maintenance will be expensive. As for the parts, availability is not such an issue, but the prices are exuberantly high.
